It is 2022 and the latest version of Ubuntu you can use is 18.04 which retires next year. Amazon Linux 2 is the latest Amazon Linux and support also ends next year. The latest version of Windows is 2012 R2 which (you guessed it) ends support next year. Centos and RHEL both end support in 2 years.

Is it safe to consider this product EOL and abandon it? AWS support constantly says they are working diligently to add up to date AMIs but this has been going on for 3+ …
