Docker: An open source project to pack, ship and run any application as a lightweight container reddit.com

I have web application built as Docker image that could basically be public. The only private data in it is a single environment variable for database connection that is passed as build argument inside the Dockerfile.

Is there a way to encrypt that secret connection string so I can have a public image?
