Microsoft Azure reddit.com

a thick client has two layers..

Application layer and Database layer

User will log into application and do some CRUD operation on database.

Can we apply Windows authentication to application layer only but SQL user authentication to database layer ?

I believe that there is no such rule that if you use Windows Authentication in application layer then you have to use the same in database layer? right?
